15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year term time only

The two small secondary schools within Cumbria Futures Federation are inclusive, welcoming and ambitious.  With a wide range of abilities in each class and an ambitious curriculum, our ‘Good’ schools punch well above their weight and provide a unique experience for our students.

We are seeking a Part Time Science Technician to work across both our schools supporting our busy Science departments.  As Technician, you will be willing to get stuck in with both supporting and helping students in classes and also preparing chemicals, materials and experiments for practical lessons and demonstrations.

Experience of safely preparing and using chemicals and scientific apparatus across all three science disciplines is required.  In particular, awareness of specialist health and safety requirements for science practicals and demonstrations is essential, as is being willing to work with students and to appreciate and support differences in ability.  Key to the role is a can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in to support our teachers and students to love science.

We positively welcome applications from colleagues at all stages in their career.  If you feel you share our values, then we would like to hear from you.

For additional information please visit our website www.solwayschool.co.uk or www.beaconhill.cumbria.sch.uk for an application pack and details of how to apply.
