English Teaching Assistant

Full-Time Teaching Assistant - English
PCD 5 (£25.989 pro-rata)
Full Time (37 hours per week), term time only (38 weeks plus 1 week Inset)

Required at the earliest opportunity, a full-time Teaching Assistant to work within our successful English department. The role will predominately involve directed time with pupils in order to support the learning of pupils within English lessons, along with some administrative duties.

The Nelson Thomlinson School is a high performing secondary school on the fringe of the Lake District in Cumbria, serving the needs of the small town of Wigton and its surrounding catchment area. Key requirements of the role include:
•    Communicating an enthusiasm for learning and an interest in English language and literature.
•    Being confident in supporting both reading and writing work across KS3 and KS4.
•    Supporting the learning of young people across the age and ability range, including those with SEND.
•    Working closely with other professionals to help deliver coherent support.
•    Completing administrative tasks efficiently.
•    A willingness to gain familiarity with software and systems such as MS Office, Edulink and SIMs.
•    Effective time management, including an ability to prioritise.
