1200 Update: Storm Dave dominates. Increasing strong winds with gale force Gusts. Visibility good, reducing moderate to poor at times. Low risk of any snow and ice and frost.

General Synopsis
A weakening Ridge of high pressure for the UK at first today before being replaced by a deep Mid Atlantic low (Storm Dave) which arrives over the UK later today to be centered over the Firth of Forth by 1800 today. Dave will track East and clear the UK during the course of Sunday. UKMO yellow wind warning comes into force from 1700 today till 0700 on Easter Sunday. An unsettled 36hr period, with rain and showers, but only slight at first today and patchy, on the storm front tonight possible accumulations of >2.5mm per hr, heaviest of 2.7 mm per hr for Southern Pennines later today. Light WSW’ly winds at first today, but back more SW’ly and increase rapidly to between 25-41mph during early this evening with gale force gusts, 50-60mph this evening. Winds will gradually ease into tomorrow to be <25mph, decreasing less as Easter Sunday moves on. Visibility will be good mainly, but a few patches of low cloud and hill fog will lower visibility to poor at times. RST’s remain above zero but lower subzero over higher ground into tomorrow early hours, with a risk of ice and frost, lowest -1 deg c tomorrow in Pennine Central.
