Temporary Full Time Teacher
Class Teacher – KS1 or EYFS
Required from 1st September 2026 until 31st August 2027 due to pupil numbers
The Governors of St Gregory and St Patrick’s Catholic Infant School are seeking to appoint a warm, enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our team. The role will be based in EYFS or Key Stage 1, depending on the strengths and experience of the successful candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity for a person who values high-quality teaching and understands the importance of strong early foundations. Strong relationships sit at the heart of everything we do, creating an environment where both pupils and staff can thrive. We use a provision-based approach throughout the school, enabling
children to develop independence, curiosity and resilience while ensuring learning is carefully planned, taught and assessed.
You will have a good understanding of child development and be confident in using provision to support progress across the curriculum. A strong knowledge of early reading and phonics is essential, along with a commitment to adapting teaching to meet a wide range of needs. The successful candidate will be reflective, open to new
ideas and motivated to develop their practice as part of a supportive team.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is passionate about teaching in EYFS and/or KS1
• Has high expectations and is committed to inspiring our children to achieve
• Understands the value of learning through play and purposeful provision
• Is committed to inclusion and meeting the needs of all learners
• Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with colleagues and families
• Shares our strong commitment to safeguarding and children’s wellbeing
• Supports and promotes the Catholic ethos of the school
We can offer:
• A successful school where “high expectations for pupils’ achievement” are evident and staff are
“valued and supported”
• Happy, well-behaved children who enjoy coming to school and love learning
• A skilled, dedicated and welcoming staff team
• A leadership team that is approachable, visible and mindful of staff workload
Further information and application forms are available from the school website: www.stgregpat.co.uk/home/vacancies. ECTs are welcome to apply.
We strongly encourage visits to the school, as this is the best way to gain a first-hand understanding of our ethos, provision-based approach, and collaborative working culture.
Closing date for applications: Wednesday 13th May 2026 @ 4pm
Interviews: Wednesday 20th May 2026
