38 weeks term time + 1 week inset + 1 week admin (40 weeks total)

The Nelson Thomlinson School is a high performing secondary school on the fringe of the Lake District in Cumbria, serving the needs of the small town of Wigton and its surrounding catchment area. We have a strong, academic ethos whilst recognising the comprehensive nature of our intake and constantly strive for further improvement with our pupils’ interests lying at the heart of all we do. Ofsted’s most recent visit in October 2023 highlighted our strong traditions and a school where pupils (and staff) are proud to live out its values. 

We are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced practitioner to join the Pastoral team. The Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) assists the Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring the safety & welfare of all children within the school, providing support & guidance on safeguarding matters.
