The Nelson Thomlinson School is a high performing secondary school on the fringe of the Lake District in Cumbria, serving the needs of the small town of Wigton and its surrounding catchment area. We have a strong, academic ethos whilst recognising the comprehensive nature of our intake and constantly strive for further improvement with our pupils’ interests lying at the heart of all we do. Ofsted’s most recent visit in October 2023 highlighted our strong traditions and a school where pupils (and staff) are proud to live out its values.

•    Creating and maintaining ‘careers records’, utilising XELLO (online careers resource).
•    Developing, managing and maintaining a wide range of ‘careers resources’ and overseeing the work of subject-specific Career Link personnel.
•    Ensuring that our CEIAG service achieves, and then continues to meet, the standards required by the Gatsby Benchmarks.
