The Gillford Centre PRU is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient and committed Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
We are looking for a highly effective classroom practitioner with experience of teaching across Key Stages 1 and 2. Experience of working with pupils with additional needs, particularly SEMH, in either a mainstream or specialist setting is essential. A strong commitment to inclusion, relational practice and high aspirations for all learners is vital.
The Gillford Centre PRU provides education and support for pupils aged 5–16 who require alternative provision due to social, emotional and mental health needs and
other barriers to learning.
The successful candidate will:
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families and professionals.
• Demonstrate resilience, flexibility and a solution-focused approach.
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Have experience of supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young
people.
• Show a commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective
practice.
We can offer:
• A supportive and experienced staff team.
• High-quality professional development opportunities.
• A rewarding role where you can make a real difference to pupils' lives.
• A positive and inclusive working environment.
