Cleaner (Fixed-Term Contract)
Hours: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3.30pm–5.30pm during term time, plus an additional 10 hours during the summer holidays for the annual deep clean, which could be done over 2 consecutive days if preferred.
Contract: 1 year Fixed-Term, (39 weeks per year)
Salary: £13.26 an hour Grade 4, SCP 5
We are looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our team on a 1 year fixed-term contract - End Date: 31st August 2027 due to Budgetary Funding
The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Working after the school day has finished, you will play an important role in ensuring our facilities are maintained to a high standard. The usual working hours are 3.30pm–5.30pm; however, for the right candidate, alternative hours may be considered by agreement.
Key Responsibilities
• Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
• Cleaning toilet facilities and replenishing consumables
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Dusting and wiping surfaces
• Ensuring cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly
• Following all health and safety procedures
The Successful Candidate Will:
• Be reliable, trustworthy and punctual
• Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Have good attention to detail
• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
