Street Trading
If you are in the Carlisle area and If you intend or have stalls (traders); selling any item to the public such as food, ice cream, goods then a Street Trading permission may be required if the event is not a ticketed one.
If you are in any doubt please contact the Licencing Team, 0300 373 3730, to discuss your event.
The trader may already have a permission from the Council but please check.
If you are in the Allerdale area, please contact Environmental Health on environmentalhealth@cumberland.gov.uk
If you are in the Copeland area, please get landowners consent and register with
Environmental Health if it is food related.
Licencable activities include
- selling alcohol
- serving hot food and drinks between 11pm and 5am
You’ll also need a licence if you provide the following types of entertainment:
- theatrical performance
- showing a film
- indoor sporting event
- boxing or wrestling (indoor or outdoor)
- live music
- recorded music
- dance
- facilities for making music
- dancing facilities
