Hammond's Pond includes a variety of recreational features:
- Two car parks, off Blackwell Road and off Buchanan Road with free parking
- Café - Open daily from Easter to 31 October, 10am - 4pm
- Public toilets
- Childrens play areas
- Full sized and junior football pitches
- All weather Multi Use Game Area
- Miniature Railway and Headquarters of the Carlisle and District Model Engineering Society Miniature Railway: 2pm - 4pm Sundays only (Easter to end of October)
- Flat accessible paths running throughout the park providing circular routes

It is a criminal offence not to clean up after your dog and you can be fined up to £1,000.
