Planning appeal for the proposed energy from waste gasification plant at Rockcliffe, Carlisle. The Planning Inquiry starts on 2 June 2026.

A planning appeal has been made to the Secretary of State following Cumberland Council’s refusal of planning application reference 1/23/9005.

An Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will hold a Planning Inquiry to decide the appeal. The proposal relates to an energy from waste development at Rockcliffe, Carlisle.

The scheme, submitted by North West Regeneration, includes a gasification facility at Kingmoor Park Rockcliffe Estate.
