In 2025, the government published Giving every child the best start in life (GOV.UK). The national strategy aims to improve child development and health outcomes, and increase access to high‑quality early education and childcare for young children.
The national strategy aligns with our vision for Cumberland. We want every baby and child to learn, grow and thrive, with the best possible start in life. By working together, listening to families and acting on evidence, we will reduce inequalities and strengthen the support available in the earliest years.
