A vacancy has arisen in the office of councillor for Harraby South ward following the resignation of Councillor Lucy Patrick.
Casual vacancies are usually filled through a by-election.
Request a by-election
A by-election will only take place if it is requested by local government electors for the Cumberland Council area.
To request a by-election:
- two electors must submit a written request
- the request must include their names and addresses as shown on the electoral register
- the request must be sent to the proper officer at Cumberland Council
If a valid request is received, the returning officer will set a date for the election within 35 working days.
