Club premises certificate

What you need to know before you apply for a club premises certificate, including qualifying clubs and activities.

After we receive your club premises certificate application

On the day after we receive your application, a 28-day consultation period will begin.

Public consultation

All applications are listed on licence applications and reviews.

People can make a representation (objection) to your application, based on the 4 licensing objectives.

Responsible authorities consultation

You must give a copy of your application and all supporting documents to the responsible authorities for the area where your premises is located.

You must do this on the same day you submit your application.

After the 28-day consultation period is over

Once this consultation period is over, and we receive no representations or objections, we will post your certificate to you.

Find out what happens if we do receive any representations to your application.

Advertising your application

You are also required by law to advertise your application on a poster and in a local newspaper.

Read our guidance on advertising a Licensing Act 2003 licence application.
