You do not need to register or get a licence for auction venues.
Apply for an auctioneer licence
You must apply for a licence if you are an auctioneer and sell any of the following at an Auction Mart or similar place:
- horses, asses, mules
- cattle, sheep
- goats
- swine
You also need a licence if you sell:
- carcasses
- hides, skins
- hay, straw
- animal feed

After you've applied
Before each auction, you must clearly display your full name and address at the auction venue.
