Street collections

If you want to stand on the street and collect money or sell items for charity, you need a street collection permit.

A street collection licence covers the collection of money or sale of articles for charity.

Street collection permits are free and you can provisionally book your preferred day, though the dates must be booked 28 days in advance.

Permits are required to control the number of collectors in an area in any one day.

It is illegal to hold a street collection to collect money or sell articles for charity or other purposes without obtaining a street collection licence, if that collection is to be held in a street or public place.
