We use information from the self-build and custom housebuilding register as an evidence base of the need for self-build and custom housebuilding plots throughout Allerdale. At the end of the latest base period (30 October 2019), our register shows:

Following the introduction of a charge to join or remain on the register in October 2018, households already on the register were advised they would have to pay a charge. All households on the register declined to pay the charge, and were removed from the register. After a review of the policy, the charge was removed in September 2019 and households were given the opportunity to re-apply to join the register.
