Improvement works on the A689, Brampton

Cumberland Council is informing residents and businesses that there will be important improvement works on the A689, Brampton.  These works are scheduled to commence on Sunday 2 July.

The carriageway improvements will commence on Sunday 2 July with a scheduled completion of Saturday 8 July. The work will be carried out in the evenings to ensure there is no disruption to traffic during the day.

During the works, the road located between the A69 Brampton Roundabout and Ruleholme will be closed each evening.  A signed diversion route will be clearly marked for people to follow.

People are advised to plan, and allow more time for their journeys, and follow the designated diversion route.

The improvement works will commence at approximately 7pm each night and will be completed by 6am the following morning. If any residents or businesses require access to their property, we kindly request that this is discussed with the Traffic Marshal who will be on site during the works, each night.

Access will be maintained for emergency services during the works.
