Essential Repair Works to Sandy Lane Retaining Wall, Great Corby

Highways

Cumberland Council will be undertaking essential repair works to the Sandy Lane South Retaining Wall in Great Corby. These essential works are vital to maintain the integrity of the retaining wall and to ensure the continued safety of road users.

The works are scheduled to commence on Monday 20 October 2025 and are expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.

To ensure the safety of both our workforce and the travelling public, a road closure will be in place at Sandy Lane between the hours of 9.00am and 2.45pm, Monday to Friday.

An alternative route will be clearly signed for vehicles under 12ft 6in (3.8 metres). Vehicles exceeding this height and requiring access will be escorted through the closure from the west side of Sandy Lane.

A safe route will be maintained for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists for the duration of the works.
