Students across Cumberland are celebrating their hard work and achievements as A Level, T Level and other post-16 examination results are published today.
Provisional results indicate a positive picture for Cumberland, with all measures showing improvement compared to 2025.
Data shared by schools shows that the average Level 3 points score increased from 31.06 in 2025 to 33.09 in 2026, an increase of 2.03 points. Average A-Level points also rose from 31.35 to 32.76, while improvements were also recorded across academic and applied general qualifications.
These figures are based on provisional data provided by schools and colleges following results day and may be subject to change as final validated results become available.
Cumberland Council would like to congratulate all students receiving their results today, together with the families, teachers, support staff and carers who have supported them throughout their education journey.
Emma Hamer, Cumberland Council’s Assistant Director for Education, SEND and Inclusion, said:
"Today is an important milestone for many young people across Cumberland. Whether students have achieved the grades they were hoping for or are considering their next steps, they should be proud of the commitment and determination they have shown.
"We want to congratulate everyone receiving their results and thank the teachers, school staff, families and carers who have helped support them along the way.
"These results open the door to a wide range of opportunities, including university, apprenticeships, training and employment, and we wish all our young people every success in the future."
