Cumberland Council will begin essential carriageway resurfacing on the B5322 Legburthwaite to The Green, St Johns in the Vale, starting Monday 19 January.
These works are part of the councils ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the local highway network.
To ensure safety of both the workforce and the public, the resurfacing will take place under a full road closure, with signed diversion routes in place throughout.
The works are expected to last for up to two weeks, subject to weather and site conditions. The resurfacing will take place from the junction of the A591, along the B5322 towards The Green.
Access arrangements:
- No vehicle access within work area during working hours (7.30am –7.00pm).
- Emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will have access at all times.
- Resident access will be restricted during working hours; however traffic marshals will assist where possible.
- Refuse collections will continue when it is safe to do so.
