Cumberland Council will begin carriageway resurfacing on the B5300 starting Monday 23 March. These works are part of the councils ongoing commitment to maintain and improve the local highway network.

To ensure safety for both the workforce and the public, the resurfacing will take place under a formal road closure, with signed diversion routes in place throughout.

The works are expected to last for up to one week, subject to weather and site conditions.

Access arrangements:

  • No vehicular access within work areas during working hours (7.30am–7.00pm).
  • Emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will have access at all times.
  • Resident access will be restricted during working hours, but traffic marshals will assist where possible.
  • Refuse collections will continue when safe to do so.
