Cumberland Council will carry out scheduled repair works to the side wall of the Wasdale Hall cattle grid between Monday 23 March and Wednesday 25 March.
The work forms part of the Bridges and Structures Team’s annual maintenance programme. The scheduled dates are subject to weather and site conditions.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and the public, the repairs will be completed under a full road closure, which will remain in place around the clock until the works are finished.
Working hours will be approximately 8.30am to 3.30pm, however the closure must remain in operation outside these hours to protect the site and ensure safe conditions. A signed diversion route will be in place.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained throughout, although short delays may occur during the movement of vehicles and plant.
These repairs form an important part of Cumberland Council’s ongoing commitment to maintain and improve the safety, resilience and quality of the local highway network.
Residents and road users with special access requirements or those seeking further information are encouraged to visit cumberland.gov.uk/roads or contact the Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3736.
Cumberland Council thanks residents and road users for their cooperation while these scheduled works are carried out. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption.
