Today, a frontal system will move north across the British Isles, reaching Cumberland this evening and continuing its progress through to Thursday morning. Later on Thursday evening, a ridge of high pressure extending from Greenland and Iceland will build over the British Isles, bringing a drier and more settled spell of weather.
