General Synopsis
A low-pressure system is present over the northern and northeastern Atlantic. This evening, a deepening low west of Ireland will move northward toward the British–Icelandic gap, forming a weather front over Cumberland early on Tuesday.
Minimum road surface temperatures (RSTs) are expected to range between +4.1°C and +7.3°C. Today, occasional showers are likely, mostly light, staying below 1.2 mm/h.
On Tuesday morning, heavier rainfall is expected, with rates exceeding 2.5 mm/h in many areas. The peak rainfall is forecast between 07:00 and 13:00, after which it will gradually ease throughout the day.
Winds today will remain gusty, with some gusts over 25 mph, but they will strengthen on Tuesday, reaching 40–50 mph at their peak. Visibility will be moderate during rainfall and mostly good at other times.
