Daily gritting schedule 11/12/2025

Thursday, 11th December 2025

Forecast:

Headline
RSTs above zero; light rain early Friday. Wind gusts 25-35 mph. Mist/fog over higher ground early Friday.

General Synopsis
High pressure over continental Europe extends a ridge across the British Isles, which gradually shifts eastward through the period. This allows a weakening frontal system to move in from the Atlantic early on Friday. Road surface temperatures range from +2°C to +11°C, lowest across Lakes East and Pennines Central. Light rain is expected during the early hours of Friday. Winds will be from the south-southwest or south at 4–22 mph. Gusts on Thursday will persist through Friday morning, reaching 25–35 mph. Some hill fog or mist may develop over higher ground early tomorrow; otherwise, visibility will be good.
