A deep and complex area of low pressure near Iceland over the next two days will bring periods of rain across Cumberland, with a more active frontal system moving through on Thursday. RSTs are expected to range between +1.4°C and +16.6°C. Outbreaks of rain will occur throughout the period, with more persistent and heavier rain developing on Thursday, where rainfall rates may reach 2.2–4.6 mm/hr for a time. Strong to gale force SW'ly winds increase during the period, 39-46 mph with extensive severe gale force/storm force gusts, 67-71 mph at times, always strongest in exposed coastal regions and higher ground. Visibility may be reduced at times in the heavier rain.
