Whitehaven projects

A major investment in Whitehaven’s Green Market and Duke Street, as part as part of a rolling plan to improve the towns public realm. This £450,000 initiative, funded by Sellafield Ltd, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and Cumberland Council, aims to enhance two of the town's central areas, creating a more inviting and functional space for residents, businesses, and visitors.

King Street, Whitehaven - Building Improvement Grants

Grants of up to £15,000 are available for landlords and businesses with properties fronting on to King Street in Whitehaven.  

Using £100,000 of Sellafield Social Impact Investment Fund support, owners and businesses with a property fronting King Street can apply for a Shopfront Improvement Grant of 50%, up to a maximum of £5,000, towards the costs of improving their frontages.
