What you need to know before you apply for a premises licence, including what is termed a licensable activity and who can apply.

Interim authority notice on a licensed premises

A premises licence will lapse if the licence holder:

  • dies
  • becomes mentally incapacitated
  • becomes bankrupt

An interim authority will reinstate the premises licence from the time the notice is received. The person giving the notice will become the licence holder.

What you need to provide

The interim authority notice must be made within 28 days of the licence lapsing so that the premises can continue to trade.

A transfer of premises licence must take place within 3 months. If not, the licence will lapse again.

Apply

The notice will last for 12 months. If you want to be told of any changes after 12 months, you will need to complete and return the form again.
