How to apply for a skip, scaffolding, hoarding or fencing permit.

Skip permit

A skip permit allows you to place a skip on a:

  • road
  • grass verge
  • pavement
  • public footpath

Only registered skip hire companies can apply for a skip permit.

How much notice to give

Please give a minimum of 3 working days notice.

This is so we can carry out checks to make sure that the skip will not cause a danger or a significant obstruction to:

  • road users
  • people intending to carry out street works 

Other information you need to provide

You also need to provide a copy of your public liability insurance documents, showing you have a minimum of £5 million of cover.
