Email service disruption
The issues affecting email messages sent to Cumberland Council have now been resolved, and we are receiving emails as normal.
Download an application form and find out what information you need to provide, including the application fee.
To apply for a permit, complete a dropped kerb application form.
You will need to give at least four weeks notice before you plan to start the work.
Send your completed form to:
Cumberland Council
Highways Depot
Joseph Noble Road
Lillyhall
Workington
CA14 4JH
Along with your completed form, please also include a site plan, showing the site location. Your contractor should be able to supply you with a site plan.
If there is a marked parking bay in front of where you are proposing to drop the kerb, you will have to pay to have the Traffic Regulation Order amended.
If there is a street lighting column near to where you are proposing to drop the kerb, email [email protected].
Columns are expensive to move and you would need to cover the cost.
Find out the application fee on the Cumberland Council fees and charges page.
Once your application has been approved, we will then contact you to make a payment.
