Overview and Egremont Town Team

The three projects funded through the Borderlands Place Programme are:

  • redevelopment of the Former Red Lion 
  • redevelopment and expansion of Florence Arts Centre
  • Connected Egremont

The three projects will:

  • improve the physical fabric of the town 
  • increase visitor numbers
  • increase footfall
  • increase town centre spend 

Egremont Town Team

The Place Programme in Egremont is led by a Town Team made up of residents, businesses, Cumberland Councillors, Egremont Town Councillors, and representatives from the voluntary sector:

  • Sam Pollen – Cumberland Councillor (Egremont ward), Chair
  • Graham Minshaw – Cumberland Councillor (Egremont North and St Bees ward)
  • Elaine Woodburn – Chair of Egremont Town Council
  • David Wright – Egremont Town Councillor and Business Representative
  • Simon Walker – Arts and Culture Representative
  • John Wells – Sports Representative

Whilst initially established to support the Borderlands Place Programme, the Town Team now have their sights on achieving much wider benefits for the town and are working hard to realise their ambition.
