Caravan and campsite licensing

Unless the site is exempt, a caravan site owner must either:

• be a fit and proper person to lawfully operate a park home site
• have a fit and proper site manager in place

This is governed by the Mobile Homes (Requirement for Manager of Site to be Fit and Proper Person) (England) Regulations 2020 - legislation.gov.uk

Who must apply

If you own or manage a protected site such as a residential park or a mixed-use park, you must apply to have the relevant person (yourself or a site manager) added to the public register.

You must apply if:

• you're paying for a new residential site
• you're transferring ownership of an existing residential site

Applications are subject to a fee.
