Pleasure boat licence: Allerdale

You need a pleasure boat licence if you hire out boats to carry up to 12 passengers. This includes:

  • motorboats
  • rowing boats
  • canoes
  • dinghies
  • sailboards
  • paddleboards

All boats are inspected every year by a council-appointed inspector.
