The Tour de France Grand Départ is an opportunity for communities, residents and businesses across Cumberland to get involved and help showcase the area to a global audience.

We will be working with communities along the route between now and July 2027 to help people learn more about the event and make the most of the opportunities it brings.

Resident and business engagement drop-in sessions

Drop-in sessions will take place in Carlisle and Keswick during November and December 2026.

The 2014 Grand Départ in Yorkshire showed how local communities came together by organising activities, decorating streets and supporting visitors during the event.
