The Tour de France Grand Départ in 2027 will bring a global sporting event to Cumberland, supported by thousands of volunteers.

Around 9,000 volunteers will be recruited across Scotland, England and Wales to help deliver both the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift Grand Départ in summer 2027.

Volunteers, known as JOY Makers, will play an important role across all six stages. This includes welcoming spectators, supporting event delivery and helping create a safe and friendly atmosphere along the route.

You can apply to volunteer at any stage of the event.

Applications close on Tuesday 1 September 2026.
