The Great British weather presents different challenges in different seasons. It's not just winter weather that can cause problems - rain at any time of the year can lead to flooding.

Storms can occur at any time of the year and we're increasingly seeing hot weather in the summer which itself brings its risks.

• check your flood risk The Flood Hub
• if you have demountable flood barriers, practice installing them in calm weather

• check you have the right kit in your car in the event of snow
