Key contacts in the event of a storm

Where there is an immediate threat to life, then ring 999.

Check the Met Office website for the latest on the weather. Keep an eye on river and coastal flooding on the Environment Agency website.

Electricity North West has more information on how to prepare for power cuts and also details of where the power may have been lost. You can also call them on 105 and report a power cut online.

You can find out the latest travel situation by looking at the National Rail website as well as Avanti West Coast and Northern Trains. The latest news on local buses can be found on the Stagecoach website.

Follow national highway updates, including for motorways and the A66. You can report road flooding or where a road is blocked by a tree to us on our Highways Hotline.
