The Head Teacher and Governors of Upperby Primary school wish to appoint a suitably qualified committed and enthusiastic Site Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the buildings and grounds of the school, liaising regularly with the Office Manager and Headteacher on all aspects of looking after the site, including the cleaning and cleaning staff.

As part of the role they will complete daily visual inspections to ensure the site is secure and safe. Undertake routine maintenance, security, health and safety checks, and monitor contracts and contractors. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a good working understanding of general DIY and handyperson skills and will be able to identify, monitor and carry out minor repairs and maintenance
  • Have an understanding and awareness of COSHH and other relevant legislation in regards to Health & Safety
  • Be able to work under pressure and plan work accordingly to meet deadlines
  • Be able to remain confidential and be vigilant in safeguarding of the children, staff and wider school community
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to manage own and other’s workload
  • Be able to carry out basic cleaning and housekeeping duties as and when required
  • Be able to follow procedures and accept instruction when necessary
  • Have a willingness to undertake training in specific areas
