An opportunity has arisen whereby we are looking to appoint a dedicated and professional Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. You will work as part of the school team as well as supporting children with specific needs. You will need to be able to demonstrate an excellent level of understanding of children will specific needs and how they can be best supported to ensure they thrive in mainstream education.

Salary: PCD5A (£25,183 annual wage £13.05/hr – term time only) 30 hours per week.

To start as soon as possible.

•    Respond to the needs of pupils and adapt approaches as required

You will also assist the teaching staff in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with parents, maintaining pupil records, and carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the teaching staff. Good experience of working with children and relevant qualifications are required.

The school offers an exciting and enriched curriculum through a wide range of activities, both within the classroom but also through the wider environment. Your primary focus will be on supporting children to be able to access this curriculum to ensure that they make excellent progress.

This will involve you working with teachers and the SENDCo to adapt the curriculum the broad and balanced curriculum offer to meet the individual needs including the teaching of reading, involvement in PE sessions, going on school trips and residentials. We provide a full programme of extra-curricular activities, outdoor learning programmes and sporting opportunities.

You will also be involved in leading playtime activities with children and supporting within the hall during dinner times.

This position is permanent. The hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 3.30pm each day.

Senior Teaching Assistant

Permanent Senior Teaching Assistant experienced in working with children who have social and emotional mental health difficulties.

PCD7 £27,711-£28,624 per annum pro rata (30 hours per week, 44.6 weeks per year) term time only/ £14.36 - £14.84 per hour.

We are looking to appoint a motivated, experienced and kind Senior Teaching Assistant to join our staff team from January 2025. The role will include supporting a child with social and emotional mental health difficulties, teaching small phonics groups and providing short one-to-one interventions for a range of pupils. There will be a requirement to supervise whole classes in unforeseen circumstances. Experience of supporting children using a nurturing and relational approach is essential. Recent autism training and experience working with autistic pupils would be desirable. RWI and Team Teach training are also desirable.

You will need to:
Adapt learning programmes to suit the needs of allocated pupil/s under the direction of a qualified teacher; 
Work closely with the teacher to share assessment and help plan next steps;
Contribute to meetings, reviews and IEPs where appropriate;
