Due to the retirement of three members of our dedicated play team, we are recruiting! Working as a member of the Play Team, you will ensure that all our children have meaningful lunchtime play every day. You will work as a member of the Play Team to create a safe and stimulating outdoor environment providing social, active and creative play experiences for all. 

We are looking for fun and friendly people who can;

• Facilitate play opportunities and act as an ambassador for play. 
• Work with the Site Manager, Play Coordinator, and Play Team members to ensure that all our children have a safe site for play. 
• Assess play areas for risks daily and communicating/implementing any changes required. 
• Assist with putting out and packing away of play equipment/kit. 
• Record and report incidents of note that occur during lunchtime – e.g. site issues, behaviour, first aid. 
• Assess and deliver first aid to pupils (if trained). Assist with first aid reporting. 
• Coordinate and communicate with the Play Coordinator, Play Team Members and the Catering Team to ensure that all children visit the dining hall in a scheduled manner, to minimise queuing and maximise play time outside. 
• Offer care, support and advice for children during lunchtime. 
• Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the team practices and performance. 
• Promote and safeguard the safety and welfare of children in accordance with school child protection and behaviour management policies. 
• Support and uphold Norman Street values, and are committed to our relational approach to behaviour.  
• Attend periodic team meetings and/or training for professional development.

This is a permanent, full time, full year contract (37 hours per week, but with flexibility around the demands of workload at key points in the school year), which must include no less than 4 days in the summer holidays for examination preparation and results distribution. 

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, well-organised and highly-motivated individual to our busy office team to take up the full duties of the school’s Examinations Officer. The successful candidate will share an office space with their immediate Line Manager, the school’s Data Manager. Forming an excellent working partnership with the Data Manager and the Deputy Head – Curriculum is a critical aspect of the role.

The successful candidate will be a team player, have a pleasant and efficient manner, and good inter-personal skills.  Of greater importance, you will have a critical eye for detail, high levels of literacy, the ability to work independently using your own initiative, and the ability to assimilate information accurately and quickly; these are essential skills. You should be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, whilst having experience of SIMS (the school’s information management system) and in particular, Exams Manager would be an advantage, however, training will be available as required.

The key duties for the Examinations Officer will be to lead and manage the entirety of the school’s examination procedures ensuring compliance with all JCQ, Ofqual and awarding body requirements. You will liaise with a wide range of colleagues, including being the primary link between the school and our large team of excellent exam invigilators. Full details of duties are given in the job specification. In addition, you may be tasked with assisting in the organisation of the school’s options processes for Y9 and Y11/Sixth Form, however, this task is under review.
