Clerk to Governors - Level 2

Salary: BS5 Clerk to Governors Level 2 £25,183 pro rata (term time only) £13.05 per hour, approximately 10 hrs per month to an annual maximum of 120. 

Stanwix School’s Board of Governors are seeking to appoint a Clerk to Governors. This is an exciting opportunity which plays an important part in the effective running of our school.

Working with a strong and supportive governing body, this role offers flexibility and the ability to build on your administration skills whilst gaining key experience in school governance. 

The ideal candidate will provide administrative and governance compliance support to the Board ensuring the governing body can fulfil their duties. 

The main duties of this position are to advise the governing body on governance, procedural and constitutional matters, manage memberships, administer meetings, maintain appropriate records and manage information, in line with relevant legislation, guidance and best practice. 

The ideal candidate:
The successful candidate will have strong administration experience, be organised and motivated and able to work independently. They should be able to read through guidance and develop schedules and itineraries that support the statutory duties of the governing body each term.  

Candidates should also have experience of effective record keeping, strong IT and communication skills and be committed to maintaining confidentiality at all times. 

If this sounds like you, but you don’t have all the necessary experience, we would still welcome your application- especially if governance is an area that is new to you as we can provide training and support to help you develop new skills and learning in this area.

Over the year, the clerk is expected to attend a minimum of 6 full governing body and sub-committee meetings which are usually held during the evening and are a mixture of online and face to face. These are arranged in September for the academic year ahead. The remainder of the hours can be worked at the clerk’s discretion or flexibly in line with the needs of the governing body.

Senior Teaching Assistant

Salary: PCD 7 £27,711 to £28,624 per annum, pro rata, term time  - £14.36 rising to £14.83 per hour. Actual salary £22,441 rising to £23,191. Term Time Plus 1 week inset days.            

The Governors of Jericho Primary School are seeking enthusiastic a highly motivated and skilled Senior Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible or in Jan 2025.

You must have excellent numeracy and literacy skills, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.  A working understanding of effective teaching and learning is essential, and you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of how children learn. 

This post is flexible dependent on the skillset offered by the successful candidate.  The post will be either for EYFS Nursery or KS1 dependent on experience offered.  We would also love candidates to have experience and/or a specialism in either:
