As a classroom teacher and leader of Mathematics, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to reach their full
potential. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Mathematics Department to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to all student needs.

About the Role:

As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you will be a lead professional within our Property Management service, ensuring proactive and efficient management of the Council’s estate. You’ll deliver expert advice on acquisitions, disposals, valuations, and asset management, supporting strategic objectives and regeneration initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver acquisition, disposal, valuation, and asset management activities in a commercial and innovative way.
  • Undertake asset valuations for financial reporting purposes.
  • Manage a varied caseload of estates management and asset valuation work, supporting the Council’s Asset Management Plan.
  • Contribute to regeneration and transformation programmes, identifying opportunities for rationalisation and investment.
  • Lead project teams and manage external consultants and contractors.
  • Mentor colleagues through their RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
  • Present at Council meetings and produce high-quality reports and briefings.

 

About You:

 

  • Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) with several years’ experience.
  • RICS Registered Valuer with evidence of CPD compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management planning processes.
  • Significant experience in estates management, valuations, and working with consultants/contractors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver positive change within a diverse property portfolio.

About this opportunity

 

This post will provide specialist advice and expertise to support secondary schools and primary schools and other educational establishments throughout Cumbria in line with the National Curriculum, local, regional and national reading and literacy objectives, and best practice.

 

The post will be managed by the Library Services for Schools Manager, and the postholder will work as part of a team.

 

The postholder will be expected to work closely with colleagues in the Public Library Service and other departments when required. This will enable consistency of approach, and support a co- ordinated approve for thematic matters, such as Literacy and Children and Young People.
