About this opportunity

 

The Cared for Children and Care Experienced Service looking to recruit a Team Manager, based at our Workington office.

 

Join us in making a real difference in the lives of our children, young people and the people that are important to them.  As a Team Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated team of Social Workers and Pathway advisors in our 0 -25 model, ensuring that our children and young people feel happy and safe, spending quality time with the people that are important to them, have effective permanency plans and are supported with kindness and care, in every aspect of their lives.

 

Working in collaboration with council colleagues and partner agencies, you will play a key role in safeguarding children, promoting positive outcomes, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Your leadership will provide clear oversight, timely decision-making, and continuous professional development for your team.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support a team of Social Workers, Personal Advisors, and a positive engagement officer.
  • Manage vulnerability, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and risk management
  • Work strategically with multi-agency panels (e.g., MAPPA, MARAC, MACE) to protect children and the wider community
  • Oversee budgets and resources, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, achieving best value money and remain within allocated team budgets.
  • Drive best practices, shaping policy, improving performance, and embedding our empowering families practice model.

What you’ll need:

  • A Social Work Degree (or equivalent)
  • A Management qualification (desirable)
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in children’s social care.

Enhanced DBS check.

 

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.

 

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.

Trust Operations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and manage operational services across Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Settlebeck School, and a local primary school within our Trust.

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape operational excellence across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality support services that enable our schools to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of support staff across the schools.
•    Line manage the Office Manager and Deputy Facilities Manager.
•    Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of support systems, procedures, and policies.
•    Act as a key liaison between teaching staff, support teams, and senior leadership.
•    Represent Operational Support at Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings.
•    Oversee induction, training, appraisal, and mentoring for operations staff.
•    Motivate and develop team members to ensure high performance and service delivery.
•    Manage team budgets effectively, ensuring compliance with Trust financial procedures.
•    Support Headteachers in developing and implementing business planning across the schools.

•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
