Sport Centre Assistant

We are looking for a Sports Centre Assistant to join our experienced premises team to start as soon as possible.

Hours: Casual contract only
Core hours as required between 9.30am and 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday 
Occasional evenings 5.00pm – 10.00pm during school holidays to cover staff leave.  

Caldew is a well-established secondary school in the Dalston area of Carlisle. We have over a thousand students and state of the art educational facilities including internal and external sports provision. These facilities are available to hire by community members and teams to whom we provide an outstanding service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of users of our sports facilities as well as the security and operation of the premises.

Good communication skills and reliability are essential, personalised training will be provided to ensure you have to the tools to complete the role to a required standard.  Lone Working protocols will apply to this role.

Are you a skilled driver with a passion for helping others? Cumberland Council is seeking a dedicated Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driver to join our Public Transport Team.

 

In this role you will operate bus services along scheduled and semi scheduled routes, adapting to traffic, weather, and delays.

You will assist boarding/disembarking, including wheelchairs and buggy users, ensuring passenger safety.

You will carry out daily vehicle and any specialist equipment checks and collect fares and issue or validate tickets/passes; reconcile cash or machine transactions.

Who we’re looking for You must hold a Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) Category D1 driving Licence (someone who passed their car driving test before September 1997, or has taken the D1 enhanced test) or, has a full Cat D licence. 

 

The role requires the ability to remain calm in challenging situations and to follow risk assessments and safe work processes.
