We are looking for a reliable and conscientious teaching assistant to join our committed, hardworking and enthusiastic team.

The job is temporary until 18th July 2025 due to increase in numbers.

The successful candidate will:
• Have a recognised Level  3 qualification relevant to Early Years and Key Stage 1
• Have a good understanding of child development and be passionate about learning in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.
• Be adaptable, able to work constructively as part of a team
• Be committed to inclusion and to providing exciting learning opportunities for children with a wide range of needs
• Have a good understanding of practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare and safety of children and be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all children

The Governing Body seek to appoint 3 Midday Supervisors/Play Team members to join our existing staff, initially on a 12 month fixed term basis, to start 4 September 2024 until 31 August 2025. Job share will be considered.

Working as a member of the play team, you will ensure that all our children have meaningful lunchtime play every day. You will work as a member of the play team to create a safe and stimulating outdoor environment providing social, active and creative play experiences for all. The play team is also responsible for ensuring that all our children have a pleasant eating experience at lunch time, whilst maximising the time they can spend outside playing. You will support all our children as they visit the dining hall and are responsible for clearing and cleaning the hall to a state ready for use (eg for PE, school assemblies) in the afternoon. 

Knowledge, Experience and Training

●    Previous experience of play work or working with children is highly desirable. 
●    Knowledge and/or understanding of the OPAL Playwork Principles is desirable.
●    Previous first aid experience is desirable (basic First Aid training will be provided).
