The Governors of St James’ C of E Junior School would like to appoint two enthusiastic, skilled and highly motivated, part-time Senior Teaching Assistants to support school-wide teaching and learning initiatives as well as focusing and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. Working hours will be from 8.45 a.m. until 3.15 p.m., Monday-Friday and will include behavioural management and supporting positive play at lunchtimes for 30 minutes per day.

The successful candidate must:
•    Be supportive, nurturing and understanding with high expectations of learning and behaviour. 
•    Be able to work alongside the class teacher, to deliver engaging and challenging learning activities that support the development of our students as well as supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. 
•    Be flexible, supportive and committed to the life of the school.
•    Be an enthusiastic practitioner that is committed to giving our children the very best. 
•    Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
•    Promote the inclusion of all pupils by supporting the application of personal targets.
•    Support the inclusion of SEND children at playtimes and offer support to children in building friendships with peers during social times. 
•    Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
•    Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs
•    Determine the need for, prepare and maintain general and specialist equipment and resources

Skills and qualifications required:
•    NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Education or Children & Young People
•    Recent experience in a school setting and work with Autistic children
•    A reflective, organised practitioner who can contribute to planning, monitoring and assessment of pupils.
•    An enthusiastic team player who communicates well with children. 
•    A commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people
•    Ability to plan/prepare and deliver learning activities/teaching programmes

Midday Supervisor

Midday Supervisor (part time, term time only)

The Governors are looking to appoint, as soon as possible, a Midday Supervisor to join our excellent team and provide lunch time cover for a total of 7.5 hours per week.
