The date for Cumberland Council’s Fireshow has been announced. It will be held on Saturday 1 November in Bitts Park, Carlisle. The sparkling event will start at 6.30pm and will be celebrate Cumberland's maritime history and heritage.

This autumn, The Beacon Museum in Whitehaven will open a new exhibition telling the powerful and personal stories of local people in World War II.
