The World of Peter Rabbit™ Storytime Trail to The Beacon

Fans of The Tale of Peter Rabbit are encouraged to hop along to The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven this summer.

They will be able to immerse themselves in the classic Beatrix Potter story at a showcase planned at The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven between Saturday 6 July and Monday 1 September 2024.

Remembering Srebrenica

Council to mark Srebrenica National Memorial Day

A survivor of the Bosnian War will be sharing his experiences at a special Cumberland Council organised event to mark Srebrenica Memorial Day 2024.

The public event, held at the Civic Centre, Carlisle, will be held on Monday 8 July, starting at 11am.

Three performances by The Pantaloons theatre company will be held at Talkin Tarn Country Park, Brampton, CA8 1HN.

Nattering sound installation

Ceramic and sound artwork at Millom Library

Nattering by Morecambe based artist Jamie Jenkinson will be installed at Millom Library on Friday 21 June 2024.  

Jamie developed this work during his artist/researcher residency with the University of Cumbria, funded by Arts Council England and Cumberland Council, where he looked at cultural landscapes alongside human-nature relationships.

Teenage Market returns to Carlisle

Preparations are underway for this Saturday’s (22 June) Teenage Market in Carlisle.

The event will feature 18 stall holders and will be open to visitors between 10am and 3.30pm outside the Old Town Hall in the city’s Market Square.
