Hourly Rate: £12.88
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.
Available Hours*: 24 hours per week, as and when required across the above THREE locations.
*Working within our Residential Care Service will typically involve working shifts which usually cover between 7am until 10pm (days) or 9.30pm – 7.30am (nights), over 7 days, 365 day a year

We have opportunities for caring and compassionate people to join our Care Services Cumberland team as BANK Support Workers (Carer, Care Worker, Care Assistant) providing support and care within our Residential Care Services.
These Bank vacancies will involve working between THREE of our Cumberland Residential Care Homes - Burnrigg Court, Moot Lodge and Eskdale House.
This will give you the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in a number of different settings and have a varied and flexible working pattern.
These roles will also give you the chance to work with and meet lots of new people!
About the role
As a Support Worker (Carer, Care Worker, Care Assistant) you will get the opportunity to know people individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care. You may also assist with medication, providing personal care, and encouraging people to achieve or maintain independence.
Your role will be to support older adults live their life how they choose and enjoy their later years. Support people to stay active and healthy by encouraging and promoting good nutrition and promoting fitness and mobility, as well as supporting emotional wellness.
No experience or qualifications are needed to get started. We will help and support you with fully paid training and development – we are looking for the right people, with the right qualities. If you do have experience, then come and take the next step in your career with Cumberland Council.

About Our Homes
Burnrigg Court is situated on the edge of Carlisle, is a newly built care home that can accommodate up to 60 residents, providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment to those who are physically frail and people with Dementia. The home is staffed by experienced and qualified people who understand the complex care needs of residents living with Dementia.
Moot Lodge is centrally located in the small town of Brampton in Market Square. The home providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment to those who are physically frail. The home is staffed by experienced and qualified people.
Eskdale House is situated in Longtown, the home provides 24-hour care and support for those who are physically frail and people with Dementia. The home is staffed by experienced and qualified people who understand the complex care needs of residents living with Dementia.

DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with adults. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults.
