About Our Home

Parkside is a comfortable, homely and safe environment which provides 24 hour residential care for the elderly frail.

Working within our Residential Care Service will typically involve working shifts which usually cover between 7am until 10pm (days) or 9.30pm – 7.30am (nights), over 7 days, 365 day a year – this will include alternate weekends (as part of a set rota) and Bank Holidays.

We are looking to increase our team, and have an opportunity for two highly motivated individuals to join our busy Housing Team as a Specialist Housing Technical Officer – Disabled Facilities Grants.

The role of Specialist Housing Technical Officer will sit within the Housing Team and is integral to the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants across the west and south Cumberland area. You will provide an essential service to enable customers to access grant funding to support them to remaining safe, well, and independent within their home for as long as is possible.

The post holder will hold a caseload and will provide a specialist technical and case management role that includes inspecting and assessing properties, preparing and costing schedules of work to facilitate Disabled Facilities Grants, determine eligible work, working with customers, Occupational Therapists, Contractors, and other key external agencies.

We are therefore seeking two suitably qualified people with significant experience who are fully competent and can deliver the functions within the role profile.

You will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain clear and accurate records.

An exciting opportunity has risen for motivated and hardworking individuals to join our developing and expanding service and team at Sedbergh Drive, Kendal. You will be a part of a team who deliver Edge of Care respite for children and young people who are identified as being on the edge of care, at risk of placement breakdown and are in need of an emergency placement, or on a planned return home.

As an Outreach and Respite Support Worker, you will be responsible for the direct outreach and respite work with young people and their families. The position involves developing a supportive and positive relationship with the young person and their family in order to guide and support the use of behaviour management techniques and organised activities in order to promote self- esteem.

You will advise and guide young people displaying risk-taking behaviours, challenging behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse, neglect issues and violence. We are looking for kind and compassionate people who can introduce and encourage families to set boundaries and develop the strategies of actions and consequences to manage. You will also support and safeguard young people whilst on planned overnight and emergency stays at Blackwell Road.

The right candidates will be upbeat, friendly, and proactive. This role will be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding, and we are looking for people who can manage the emotional demands of the role, as well as challenging behaviour.
