About the role

As a Support Worker (Carer Care Worker Care Assistant) you will get the opportunity to know people individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care. You may also assist with medication providing personal care and encouraging our people to achieve or maintain independence.

This role is an opportunity to help older adults live their life how they choose and enjoy their later years. You will be supporting people to stay active and healthy by encouraging good nutrition and promoting fitness and mobility as well as supporting emotional wellness.

About Our Home

Inglewood Residential Home is a multi-award-winning home in Cumbria which has been awarded ‘Outstanding’ by CQC. Inglewood provides a safe, caring and home from home environment for up to 39 residents with complex health care needs. Situated close to all facilities in the market town of Wigton, we offer respite and residential care for those who are elderly, frail or have dementia. The site is also a hub within the local community which is used as a base by external groups and provides day care services.

Working within our Residential Care Service will typically involve working shifts which usually cover between 7am until 10pm (days) or 9.30pm – 7.30am (nights), over 7 days, 365 day a year – this will include alternate weekends (as part of a set rota) and Bank Holidays.

Braithwaite CE Primary School has the exciting opportunity to welcome a new staff member to our team, ideally to start on 23rd February (or as soon as possible thereafter).  

Teaching Assistant 15-26 hours per week, 15 hours permanent, up to 11 hours temporary, Grade 5 SCP6, PCD5 (£25,989 per annum, pro rata, term time plus 1 week INSET & holiday entitlement). 

We are seeking an excellent teaching assistant to join our dedicated and hard working team, working in our Early Years & Key Stage 1 unit (supporting Nursery & Reception pupils in particular) and working ideally Monday to Thursday (but definitely Tuesday and Wednesday).  There are 15 hours on a permanent contract; up to a further 11 hours are linked to current nursery hours so are fixed term, though are likely to continue.  

The successful candidate will need to be:
•  A qualified teaching assistant (must have level 3 Early Years qualification) with recent experience with pupils aged 3-7 years, including those with additional needs
•  Calm and positive in promoting learning and managing pupils’ behaviour
•  Dedicated to ensuring the well being and progress of all pupils 
•  Highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and caring; able to work as part of a strong team under the direction of the Early Years / Key Stage 1 teaching staff
•  Sympathetic to the Christian ethos of our school and committed to our aims and values.

We are a small school where staff tend to ‘multi-task’ so this post would ideally be combined with roles as After School Club lead & After School Club Assistant, 2.5 hours per week in each role (ideally Tuesday & Wednesday to 5:40pm, Grade 5 SCP6, PCD5 for leader, Grade 3 SCP3-4 for assistant) – see separate job descriptions for more details of these roles on our school website.
